What is an Underwriting Group?

An underwriting group is a temporary cooperative group between investment banks organized by the lead investment bank in the new issue of securities. The main task of the group is to underwrite newly issued securities, and members of the group must follow the contract between the subscribers. The subscriber contract agreed to purchase securities from the issuing company at an agreed price and then sell them at the listed price. [1]
