What is the diasty?

Diastema is the term used by the dentist to describe a space or space between two teeth, usually two front teeth of the upper jaw. All mammals can develop a diasty and the function even occurs naturally in many animals. This condition is often experienced by human children when their primary teeth fall out, although usually corrected when permanent teeth finally appear. If the gap remains after the permanent teeth explodes, it is likely that the diasthemum will remain until the child is delivered by orthodontic treatment.

In addition to the missing teeth, diasthes can also be caused by teeth that are too large or small in relation to the jaw or alignment problems such as overbite. In some cases, excessive labial frenulum is to blame. Labial frenulum is tissue around the interior of the lip, which reaches to meet the gum tissue around the upper two teeth. If this tissue is too large, it can postpone teeth apart and cause a diastem.

Many herbivorial mammals have a natural diastéWe between their front teeth and sometimes between their cheek teeth. It is a common occurrence between rodents and lagomorphs, which are rodents with four incisors in the upper jaw. Some animals, such as antensers and pangolins, have large diastheses among very small teeth.

in humans may be treated with diasthemia depending on the severity of the condition and the reason for its occurrence. The common options for the treatment of diastheses include the application of porcelain veneer to the teeth, carrying out crowns and bridge work or tooth implants in adults. Orthodontic treatment and braces can also be used to slowly move the teeth together and close the space between them.

If the cause of the diasthemum is an excessive labial frenulum, surgery can be performed as freedectomy. During frenectomy, the tissue is cut and then moved to allow Greater flexibility. When the procedure is performed on the child, the gap between the teeth may be in the courseNaturally close at the time. In teenagers and adults, braces or orthodontic treatment may be required to close.

Diastema does not pose any significant health risks and is commonly considered to be a cosmetic problem instead of health. Many people have decided to live with their diaaste to endure expensive and often painful surgery. In some places in the world, however, the space between the teeth of beauty is a sign of beauty. The inhabitants of the western regions of Nigeria consider diastheses attractive and some people are subject to cosmetic dentistry to let them artificially created.
