What is the stomach polyp?

Unlike polyps that are often found in the large intestine, according to the Mayo clinic, polyps are relatively rare. The stomach polyp consists of cell weight and grows on the stomach lining. It often causes no symptoms and can only be discovered if the investigation is performed for another purpose.

Despite the fact that the stomach polyp usually has no symptoms, polyps that grow near one of the stomach holes or which are very large, will cause some generalized symptoms of the stomach. The polyp that blocks the opening in the small intestine causes the digestive, nausea and possibly vomiting. Large polyps can lead to abdominal sensitivity, either constant or obvious when the abdomen is pressed. Polyps can sometimes develop surface ulcers, causing bleeding, except for some or all the other symptoms. On the specific type of polyp. The doctor evaluates the stomach polyp to see if it is likely to cause trouble in the future. If this is one of the types that can leadFor difficulty, the doctor will most likely recommend removal.

There are three main types of stomach polyps. Fund -gland polyps grow from gland cells of stomach lining. They may occur in anyone, but are more common in people with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), inherited predisposition to colon cancer. Polyps of the backing glands are exposed to a high risk of changing stomach cancer in people with FAP.

Adenomas are also formed from gland tissue in the stomach lining, but in a way other than the polyps of the fund. When adenomas begin to grow, they develop a mistake in their deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) acid that causes them to be very high risk of cancer. They are almost inhaled either chronic gastritis or FAP.

Hyperplastic polyps are formed in response to chronic inflammation in stomach lining, as found in people with gastritis. These polyps with the usualcage will not become cancer. The exception is that large polyps, those above 3/4 inches (1.9 cm) across, turn more often to stomach cancer and therefore pose more risks.

If the doctor decides to remove the stomach polyp, the removal can often be done by an endoscope, a tube that is inserted into the stomach by mouth. This tube can be passed and the stomach polyps can be sailed from the lining. Medicines for controlling infections and inflammation can be used to prevent growth and repetition of polyps in the future.
