What Is Focal Epilepsy?
Focal epilepsy is a localized lesion in the cerebral cortex that causes a localized attack. The cause is related to abnormal brain regions such as neuronal development, degeneration, or tumors. It can be localized by brain imaging and electroencephalography. Consciousness usually stays awake and can develop into a major attack. It can be divided into sensory attacks and motor attacks due to different lesions.
