What is a bitmap font?
Bitmap font is a computer font that uses a unit called PIXEL to create symbols called glyphs that form the overall bitmap font. This type of font is used when a compact font with a rapid load is necessary. Bitmap font is sometimes called raster font. The classic standard in terms of fonts is a bitmap one of the older types of fonts. It was used on Dot Matrix computers and is still relevant in many software programs.
There are several types of fonts that fall into the category of bitmap fonts. The most common are normal server format (SNF), portable compiled format (PCF), glyph (BDF) bitmap distribution format. In general, different formats for bitmap fonts such as BDF fonts used in the software produced by Adobe® are used in different software sets. Bitmap fonts are used when the fonts have to load quickly, but are not flexible and change the size of the image causes to deteriorate in quality.
Symbols in Scripture are called Glyphs. Glyph refers to an individual written figure that contributes to the importance of the overall written piece. The Scripture designer uses the font editor to design fonts and generally suggests each glyph individually. Among the types of fonts include the script of bitmap, font of stroke and outline font.
Although bitmap fonts are better for fast loading than other font types, the glyphic bitmap fonts do not have smooth, so the font is less convenient for the font that needs to be changed. With a bitmap, the font designer must create different fonts for a computer to portray different font sizes while maintaining quality in characters. Bitmap fonts were most useful on older computer systems that lacked memory and processing force to handle higher demand.
glyphs can be many different types of symbols. A letter is glyph but not all glyphs are letters because glyph is widEr term, which refers to characters and symbols that mediate the meaning in any written language. In some languages, the difference is as small as the dot is in a small case that I can be glyph, because it expresses the difference between different types of I. in this language. In English, however, a dot is not considered to be a glyph in general, because there is no other one that I could confuse the character. In fact, the dot in a small case does not make any clear change in the message, so it's not a glyph.
