What is a travel block?
Travel-Block is a pulley with multiple needs used to increase or reduce the drill chain and packaging into drilling. The blocks usually consist of four to six individual pulleys, over which steel cables used to suspend black. The cables are then connected to a fixed crown block at the top of the Derrick, so the lower block lets it move up and down freely after the cable fall. To the bottom of the block block are attached to the absorber of the shock and hook crane and are used to suspend a drill chain. These blocks of blocks are most often encountered in oil drilling applications and are often able to handle a load exceeding £ 1,000,000 (454,000 kg).
Reducing, lifting and controlling the drill chain in deep wells generally requires an extremely robust stroke arrangement. These jacks usually consist of a crown block mounted in a fixed position at the top of the Derrick well and a travel block at the bottom of the rope fall.Control for multiple costs, usually containing four to six individual pulleys. These pulleys are flat discs with a deep groove machined around their perimeter. When they are grouped together because they are in the travel block, they are referred to as a pulley.
The pulley function is to allow the drill ropes to pass through the block with minimal friction. In the case of a block of travel, four or more pulleys are often used to spread significant loads carried by a block. It also serves to increase the overall mechanical advantage of the lifting system, as well as measures above the redundancies in the event of a rope break. Sakeve is located on the central shaft as a set enclosed in a steel case equipped with a holder on its lower surface. The bracket is used to suspend the shock of the absorbing hook, which in turn is used to support the specified load.
string and drill covers often extend to significant distances below the surface and to the boreholeExtreme loads develop. This requires that travel blocks be evaluated to safely suspend loads that often exceed £ 1,000,000 (454,000 kg). This extreme load in conjunction with the stress -laid drilling process requires the use of highly robust and reliable components in block construction.
