What is notchplastic?

Notchplastics is a surgery performed to transform the intercondylar notch, an area at the base of the femur. Intercondylar Notch is articulated with the knee and may vary considerably in size or shape. Some variations are not a reason for concern, but in other cases the inter -the -bolt notch develops abnormality that can cause health problems. In these situations, the surgeon can recommend notchplastic to solve the problem. The femur, the longest bone in the body, has a distinctive set of extended projections known as lateral and media condyles at its base. Intercondylar Notch lies among the condyles. In neo -zeplastics, the surgeon focuses on abnormalities in the notch.

Sometimes it is necessary to perform notchplastic to suit graft. In other cases, there may be concerns that the anterior crossed liga is threatened by rubbly or damage due to growth known as osteophytes, which are sometimes formed on the inside of the lateral condyle femur. As the liga moves, the growth and osteophytes of itthey damage over time. The surgeon can perform notchplastic to remove growth and transform the notch to reduce the risk of damage to this critical knee ligament.

Before performing this orthopedic procedure, the surgeon orders medical imaging studies to understand what is happening on the base of the femur, and acquired the patient's anatomy. The patient will also be proven for risk factors that would make surgery dangerous. In an interview with the patient, the surgeon will discuss surgery, planned outcome and risks, and make sure that the patient is aware of the risk of surgery to decide whether or not to continue.

During the procedure, the patient is placed under anesthesia and monitored by anesthesiologist. Each surgeon approaches notchplastic differently and the approach also varies depending on the patient's specific needs. SurgeRG, which helps the surgical team, transforms bones and performs any other necessary procedures such as graft insertion, before closing the surgical site and sending the patient for recovery. While in recovery from notchplastics, patients usually have to observe some special preventive measures, including first maintaining the weight outside the damaged leg, and some patients may be necessary physical therapy to help them re -build their strength.
