What is bone regeneration?
bone regeneration is a natural process in which the bone is formed and lost through the bone of the body. It occurs throughout life, but the level of creation and re -absorption changes as a person ages. Bone regeneration is also called remodeling and occurs at a cellular level. When this process becomes unbalanced, bone mass decreases and bones can become fragile.
Rosing Bond and regeneration points represent two processes that can reverse bone decrease and promote new bone growth. These procedures are commonly used in dental surgery to support the growth of bones lost by gums, also known as periodontal diseases, injuries or surgery to eliminate tumors or other growth. Bones that have deteriorated can reform and grow to increase bone mass. Grafting
is a form of regeneration that creates a connection between the existing bone and the grafted material. Over time, the new bone overtakes and replaces the bones that were chirUrgically implanted. Bone mass could be completely restored this process in some patients, while others can see partial renewal.
Donor corpses are one source of bone used to regenerate bones by means of grafting. The bone can also be removed from the patient undergoing procedure, with the most common places hip or chin. Other regenerative materials include bone minerals made of animals and synthetic materials that must be removed in new bone forms, usually a few months later.
bone minerals normally come from pigs and look similar to human minerals under a microscope. Minerals are cleaned to reduce the chance of infection or rejection. These materials stimulate cells and blood vessels to create a new bone to replace the lost mass.
in the regeneration of a controlled bone is in an area where the bone loss is evident, natural or sonTetic membrane. The membrane prevents the development of scar tissue, as the new bone begins to grow. Natural membranes contain collagen that the body reabsorb, usually within four months. The synthetic form must be removed in subsequent surgery and is commonly used in patients who are allergic to collagen or pork products.
If dental procedures are needed, the tooth is removed and the cavity is cleaned from the infected tissue. The bone membrane or bone mineral is placed in the dental cavity in front of the re -inserted tooth. If the cavity exists from extraction, there are materials for bone regeneration, which is a tendency to keep it in place.
Most bone regeneration procedures are performed under local or general anesthetic. In dental surgery, pain and swelling are common side effects of surgery. The degree of discomfort depends on how much grafting or other work has been done in the mouth. Patients are commonly recommended to avoid pressure on the place of surgery for no timethe name of six weeks to allow the cultivation of a new bone.
