What are pressure points?
pressure points are sensitive areas of the body where pressure can be applied to cause certain effects or feelings. Proper pressure exerting to these places can cause pleasure, pain relief, stress relief or healing, as in acupuncture and reflexology. These points can also be used to cause pain, injury or inability in certain forms of martial arts and other types of struggle. In modern medicine, pressure points are defined as areas of the body that have a high nerve density. The nerve concentration in one area of the body leads to hypersensitivity in this area.
Location
There is no consensus about how many pressure points the body or their accurate placement has. One hundred points are used in traditional Chinese medicine, but other sources believe that there could be thousands of them. Their number and placement may also vary depending on the way they are used.
Reflexology
Sometimes called zone therapy, reflexology uses the pressure that is appliedFingers, elbows or other tools to massage or push the subject's pressure points in the legs, hands and ears, reducing energy pathways. Based on the belief that all the main organs of the body are represented by specific points on the hands, legs or ears, reflexology claims that the corresponding pressure points will help by stimulating the corresponding pressure points. The advantages of stimulating these points include improved circulation, stress relief and repaired energy flow. All of this is considered to help many people to help function more efficiently and healing.
acupuncture
The branch of traditional Chinese medicine called acupuncture teaches that the body has points where energy accumulates and its flow is inhibited. By penetrating these stains with small needles, it is considered to be redirected energy pathways and thus befining the overall health and healing of the subject. Acupressure is similar to practice, but instead of using needles, the pressure is applied using the bare hands of the practitioner.

at the other endThe spectrum is the study of pressure points for use in martial arts and other types of struggle aimed at identifying these areas of the body, which are susceptible to the way of extreme pain or injury. These points are identified so that they can be attacked, thus injuring the opponent or making it incapable. Eyes, nose and weaknesses are commonly cited by combat pressure points. Two places under the jaw bone, one on each side of the face, often taught in the classes of self -defense as primary pressure points to be used by victims of violence.
