What is a bar jack?
Bar connector is a type of fish that lives primarily in the coral reefs of the South Gulf of Mexico. It is also located in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of the Eastern United States to the north like New Jersey. Bar connectors are identified and named for a strip of black bar, which runs along the back from head to their lower tail fin. Fish are hunted for sport and food and most of them are consumed on the Bahamas. It is known that the fish also have a bright blue stripe directly below the black stripe, and is therefore also called blue-dragled Cavalla. The bar connector has a scalated chest, the tail fork and its fins are longer than its head. Length, fish reaches around 19.7 inches (50 cm) and weighs about 18 pounds (8.2 kg).

They can easily be seen divers in this area and are often caught by a sports fisherman. The bar connector rides routinely in the areaBahamas, but is recommended carefully because it is known to cause cases of ciguatera poisoning. It is the result of a toxin that will pick up the fish from coral reefs that spread dinoflage.
