What is a hydrostatic transmission?

The hydrostatic transmission is a transmission that is operated by hydraulics. There are no provisions for the clutch or need to change gears with the hydrostatic gearbox. To change speed with this type of transmission, the operator simply moves the speed selector in the direction that represents the desired reaction. Usually, the speed of the speed selector, the faster the tractor or vehicle will go. The lever backing backwards will allow the vehicle to slow down. From the stopped position, pulling the lever backwards the vehicle is placed backwards.

There are clear advantages and disadvantages when using a hydrostatic gearbox. The advantage is the ease of operation. By removing the clutch pedal, the machine becomes a much less complicated operation. The speed and performance of the vehicle can be easily operated using the speed and direction lever instead of the throttle. The engine can also be used to control the descent of a two hill or a degree using speed and direction rather than brakes.

The hydrostatic transmission also has a share of failures. First hydrostaticThe gearbox increases the likelihood of stuck. Power application often controls too much torque to the wheels in the situation of soft terrain, so it is susceptible to spin and stuck. Also, tire speed is not as effectively managed as a throttle, creating a problem of control, which usually leads to the operator losing the struggle between gravity and soft surfaces.

This type of drive system is also more expensive than a typical transmission operated by a clutch and gearbox. The hydraulic fluid itself, which is used in the hydrostatic drive, is more expensive than the clutch unit in traditional transmission. Maintenance and service are much more expensive to convert the hydrostatic drive, which is the use of a traditional clutchmmno more attractive for many buyers.

For most hydrostatic transmission owners, the idea of returning to traditional transmission does not mean. Ease of using a hydrostatic gearbox makes KRAt the work of many tasks and allows the operator more conveniently perform shelter than the tedious push of the clutch and change the gears. Once most operators are acclimatized for hydrostatic drive, it is able to handle the machine with one hand without touching the throttle or the brake system until the task is completed.
