What is Pterion?

Pterion is a place of meeting several bones in the human skull. It contains an area around sphenoparietal stitch. It is found on both sides of the head in what is considered to be a temple area. It is not visible to the naked eye, nor can it feel through the touch. The front bone is located in front of the head in an area that is often called the forehead. Part of this bone descends into the face. This is called the zygomatic process and is part of the bony ridge of the eye socket and the bony protrusion of the face, often called the cheekbone. The zygomatic process is in fact a convergence of three bones: a front bone; Maxilla or Jawbone; and time bone.

The time bone is located on the side of the head and consists of four parts. His squamous part is attached to the parietal bone, which sits above it and forms the upper part of the head. The sphenoid bone sits in front of the time bone and connects with the parietal bone and spinnocell temporary on alisphenoid, also known as a larger sfenoid wing.

Pterion is considered to be the weakest part of the skull and the wound can break the main artery that runs under it. The middle meningal artery runs directly below the pterion and is part of the maxillary artery, which in itself is the main branch of the outer carotid artery - the main artery of the neck and head. The medium meningal artery branches from maxillary artery and supplies blood to external mening, which are membranes that cover the brain.

There are three meningal arteries that supply meninges with blood: rear, front and center. The middle one of the three of the three and the rupture of this artery is caused by the type of traumatic brain damage called epidural hematoma or extredural hematoma. The terms "epidural" and "extradural" relate to the dura mater or tissue surrounding the brain and spinal cord, also called mening. There are three layers of mening: Dura Mater, PIA Mater and Arachnoid. Dura Mater is the farthest layer of tissue.
