In Genetics, What Is a Linkage Group?
Linked group method is a method of locating genes near the centromere. If a chromosome has a known gene that is closer to the centromere and another gene is also very close to the centromere, it is unknown whether Belong to the same chromosome. When these two mutant lines are crossed, if the two genes belong to the same chromosome, the frequency of recombination between them should not exceed the sum of the centromere distances of the two.
