Li Jie (April 29, 1894-January 30, 1977), the word No. 3, the big nose. Cheng'an, Hebei. In 1913, he was admitted to the Geological Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce to study geology. He graduated in 1916 and studied under Zhang Hongzhao, Ding Wenjiang, and Weng Wenyi. Chinese geologist, one of the first 22 geological professionals trained by Chinese scholars. [1] Former researcher at the Institute of Geology, Academia Sinica, leader of the Hubei Provincial Mineral Investigation Team, director of the Hebei Construction Department, chief engineer of the Bureau of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology of the Ministry of Geology, chief engineer of the Geology of the Survey and Design Management Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources, and deputy director of the Hydropower Construction Chief engineer, etc. In the early years, he engaged in regional geological mineral surveys in northern China, northern Hubei, southern Henan, and southern Shaanxi. In 1927, he served as the site director of the excavation project of ancient human sites in Zhoukoudian, and authored the article "Fossil Layers in Zhoukoudian." In the 1930s he successively conducted geological and mineral surveys in Hunan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hubei, and Jiangxi provinces. Contributed to the development of China's early geological cause. He divided the glacial period in the western Hubei mountains in the article "A Preliminary Study of the Quaternary Glaciers in Western Hubei Province" (1940), which is still used today. After 1949, he was mainly engaged in engineering geological work in water conservancy and power construction, and contributed to the construction of many domestic reservoirs, dams, and hydropower stations. [2] His main works are: "Geology and Minerals in Zhili Yi, Tang, Wei and other counties", "Geology in the middle of Qinling Mountains", "Geology near Guangxi Luocheng Golden Temple" and "Quality of the Quaternary Glaciers in Sanmenxia, Shan County, Henan Province "Wait.
