The corresponding decision. The scientist then used a high-gain antenna to send instructions to the probe vehicle through a 3-hour direct communication window. Within the next 20 hours, the vehicle will work on its own, including executing instructions and transmitting data to the two satellites above. The probe's instructions may be to order it to go to a new rock, grind it, analyze it, take a picture, or use other equipment to collect data.
The probe and scientists will repeat this mode of operation for approximately 90 days. After that, the probe's energy began to deplete. At the same time, the distance between Mars and Earth will be farther and farther, which will cause greater difficulties in communication. In the end, when the detection vehicle did not have enough energy or was too far away to communicate, the detection mission was declared over.
