What is text mining?
Text mining is the process of using computer technology to browse text documents for research and analysis purposes. It is often considered to be a very similar process known as data mining, but relies on special programming to look in a non -classorized text and, instead of analyzing in advance categorized database information, find meaning or formulas. Text mining has many applications in areas such as science, marketing and data organization.
The complexity involved in the organization of words into language is too extreme to handle computers, but scientists have worked hard to improve this kind of programming. Many methods have been developed that scientists allow to identify phrases and discover the facts about text. In general, this is not the same as fully decrypting meaning, but it allows shortcuts that achieve many of the same goals. Text mining uses some of these techniques, and how this technology is improved, it is generally expected that text mining will improve as you will improve. Experts
use Text analysisEspecially for written documents research. A large amount of written data can be difficult to analyze due to a huge amount of time. Computers can go through this text much faster, but do not understand it. Text mining techniques allow computers to find useful trends in the text and present data in a way that can detect new facts or allow specialists to discover.
An example of use for this technology would be a market research. Experts could analyze the product name results and let the program look for phrases that express user sentiment. In this way, they can find out how people really feel about their product in great detail. They could also easily look for their product and find out which phrases occur most often, and that can help them develop new ideas about how to please their users.
Another use for mining text is the analysis of scientific PRAchi about similar subjects looking for new trends or agreements. This allowed some scientists to make predictive assumptions that proved useful in fields such as protein analysis. Some experts think that these types of applications can eventually provide unexpected discoveries.
The process called data mining is actually quite similar to text mining, but is generally less complex because it relies on a text that has already been formatted into categories. For example, the software could go through all information for job applicants in a database and search for trends. Text mining is more difficult for computers because clean text is more difficult to analyze than categories.
