What is Alostasis?

allostasis is a theory used to explain how the body regulates its internal systems. It was first developed in the 80s as an alternative to homeostasis. The main difference between the two theories is that the principle of homeostasis assumes that the organism is trying to maintain internal stability, while alostasis theory states that the organism is trying to regulate its internal systems in a way that is most adaptive to the current situation based on previous experiences. Alostasis principles claim that stability is less important than adaptability and that internal systems are not designed to be perfectly stable.

There are a number of principles that define allostaziz. The first is that the organisms have evolved so that their internal systems are effective. The needs of each system are based on an average amount that can metabolize organisms and the average amount that each system needs. The organism is also designed to give multi -energy into a given systemMU, such as the digestive system after a meal or the respiratory system while running, as needed.

Since the average input and output is not always achievable, the organism is able to trade between different systems. These trades are regulated by the brain of the organism that evaluates situations to determine which systems need additional energy and which can do less for some time. One example is the adrenal response. In confrontation with a dangerous situation, the adrenal gland releases hormone, which causes respiration, heart rate and blood pressure to close the digestive system and certain aspects of vision, such as the ability to see color, disappear.

One of the principles of Alostasis, which differs significantly from homeostasis, is that the organism uses a forecast to adjust the number of resources to which the system enters. This predictive ability means that the organism leaves its average state voluntarily whenHe expects a change. An example of this is an increase in the amount of insulin in the bloodstream in anticipation of eating, for example, with a smelling meal. The insulin level is treated before glucose enters the bloodstream, forcing the body to undergo a chemical change. These modifications assume that the body has learned, either by evolution or by adapting that the modifications will need in the future to remain in the state of alleats.
