When a person mentions native spirituality, it generally refers to Indian spirituality. This is completely different from religion, such as Christianity, because there is no single set of faith or dogma. It is not a religion as such, but rather a way of life that integrates broadly diverse sets of beliefs into most of all aspects of the existence of a follower. According to the vast majority of anthropologists, they first inhabited the North American continent between 30,000-60,000 years. It is assumed that many of them have passed on the ground with matter, now they plunged into the Bering Strait. As the population has spread and the trunks have been created, a large number of individual faith systems have developed. While practically all are different, most of them are associated with common features, which often occur among nomadic hunters and collectors. Objects, animals and even geographical places located in the house of the region of the region were given supernatural significance. Shamanism was very common and almost all the original spiritual practices were strongly relying on ritUals, ceremonies, concept of good and evil spirits, hunting and cultural taboos. Other shared tendencies of native spirituality sometimes included the primary deity that created the Earth, and an opponent or a fraudster who suffered a man to a greater or lesser extent. Such a contradictory relationship is also common to the non -native faith, as in the Christian theology of the Supreme God and the evil Satan.

Due to the disease and almost genocidal practices that were visited on the indigenous Americans in the 18th and 19th centuries, spirituality was often diluted or extinct. Christianity was often forcibly imposed on the tribes of native Americans, and the result was that many now carry the beliefs that are a hybrid. At that time, the performance of missionaries between the native inhabitants was considered a high call. The conversion of indigenous Americans of what was considered pagan ways was the highest priority for many.

onAt the end of the 20th and at the beginning of the 21st century, those who advocated faith in New Age tried to take some native spiritual beliefs. Many aspects of the new age version of native spirituality are based on fiction and hearing than the real ceremonies and practices of any tribe. The fictional of native faith was almost inevitable, because many tribes rely on oral tradition and now has no records of early rituals.

There is a real native religion, although it is the creature of the 20th century. The indigenous American church was founded in 1918 and boasts approximately 300,000 members.
