What is eye neuritis?

eye neuritis is an eye condition characterized by swelling and pain in the nerves that bring visual data to the brain and allow eye movement. When an optical nerve, a network of nerves behind the eye bull that transmits visual allusions between the retina and the brain, it is inflamed, this condition is called optical neuritis or retrobulbar neuritis. This may result in a fleeting loss of vision lasting from the month to four months or permanent loss. Inflammation of other skull nerves that cause the eye to move up and down or from side to side is usually called eye motor paralysis. Autoimmune disease, lead poisoning and proliferation of harmful bacteria in the eye can cause both forms of eye neuritis.

Children, specifically children and toddlers whose eyes are still evolving, may suffer from eye neuritis after exposed to high levels in toys or walls and window sills. Exposure of lead water in old houses with lead pipes can also cause neuritiduoko for smallchildren. Plumbers who are constantly working with old lead pipes can also be affected. In most advanced countries, lead is banned in new homes.

Neuritis related to lead exposure can often be difficult to diagnose, while some doctors confuse it to a brain tumor or basal meningitis. The diagnosis is often facilitated when it occurs simultaneously, such as the presence of blue gums in the mouth - a change in color caused by lead completely unrelated to the eye. In addition to rubber changes, medical journals were documented by children with neuritis, which are parallel conditions drops of legs, colic and wrist decrease.

in adults, diseases and bacterial or viral infections are the main causes of eye neuritis. Studies show that most patients diagnosed at the age of 30 and more have been infected with neuritis through syphilis and meningitis. Multiple sclerosis is another partitionnou; paralysis of eye neuritis is often considered one of the first symptoms of the onset of multiple sclerosis. Allergic reactions to drugs or chemicals in the environment may cause neuritis in some sensitive individuals. Sometimes the cause of neuritis is not unknown: blur, blind spots and pain during eye movement simply occur without detectable cause.

Medical research shows that women are more likely than men affected by eye neuritis. Sometimes the nerves are adjusted and terminated by neuritis. Other times, doctors can alleviate eye inflammation with corticosteroids. In some cases, for example in multiple sclerosis, there is no remedy for eye neuritis.
