What Is Peyronie's Disease?
The disease manifests as fibrous, inelastic scar formation in the white membrane of the cavernous body. PD can cause bending or deformity of the penis and cause mechanical ED (penile erectile dysfunction). Approximately 10% of middle-aged men are afflicted with the disease, and are rarely diagnosed in their 20s and later. PD can occur in dupuytren's contractures, typanosclerosis (diabetes, gout), Paget's disease, beta blockers, and damage.
Peyronie's disease
- The disease manifests as fibrous, inelastic scar formation in the white membrane of the cavernous body. PD can cause bending or deformity of the penis and cause mechanical ED (penile erectile dysfunction). - PD includes active and chronic phases. During the active phase, the patient initially felt pain, followed by plaque and penile curvature, which manifested as erectile pain. In the chronic phase, the penis flexes steadily and pain is reduced. In order to reduce the recurrence and finally wait for the patient to have no pain when erection or no erection, surgery is performed to correct penile curvature.
