What is a frightened reflex?

Reflex or Moro Reflex is an involuntary and quite natural reaction that a child can have for excessive stimulation. Such stimulation may include sudden loud sounds and a sense of falling into space. The Austrian pediatrician Ernst Moro first acknowledged and documented this reflex when he observed his frequent incidence in children.

Children are beginning to develop a frightened reflex for nine to 12 weeks while they are still in the womb. Reflex becomes fully ripe at birth and remains part of their system until they are about six months old. In newborn children, the response to excessive sounds or noise is called an acoustic overdose reflex. For example, the penetrating ringing of the phone or the loud humor of the vacuum cleaner can disrupt children and surprise them in automatic reaction.

When this happens, the children stretch their heads, both hands set off on their sides, spread the palms and fingers, and bending their thumbs. They can arg their backs and cry in surprisingly. Their heart rhythm, blood pressure and breathing increase during reflex. Reflex ends after a short momentu. Bring their hands back to their chest and their bodies turn back to the relaxed position. It may take several seconds to balance their breathing, and their heart rate and blood pressure to return to normal.

frightened reflex does not necessarily occur just as a reaction to external stimulation. Sometimes the children were startled as they experience a deep feeling of falling while they still sleep. Because children are no longer in the womb protective environment, this feeling evokes feelings of uncertainty and results in a terrified reflex of children. Physically, it looks as if they were trying to catch something when they "fall", even though their eyes are still closed in deep sleep. The themes that they can wake up depends on how strong their reflex was, but the frightened children often go to sleep quite quickly.

parents can unnecessarily worry about seeing their children passing through a terrified reflex. This natural reaction is in the factThe evidence of the acoustic, physical and neurological health of their children. On both sides of the body, a surprised reflex should appear and show identical and symmetrical reactions in both arms. The absence on the one hand may indicate injury in the shoulder and arm or a more serious nervous problem in the area between the lower neck and the upper arm. No leap reflex could at all point out damage in the brain or spinal cord.

frightened reflex usually disappears when children are about half a year. Until then, pediatricians have performed regular checks to ensure that children normally respond to external stimulation. The parents concerned can also try to reproduce a safe environment similar to the womb of the soft blanket. To snižuje pocity zranitelnosti a nejistoty dětí, a proto minimalizuje jejich reflex na vyděšení.
