What is the Digital Act on Copyright (DMCA)?

The Copyright Act Digital Millennium (DMCA) is a federal law established in 1998. Criminalizing the development or use of software that allows people to access materials that are protected by copyrights such as music files, DVDs or software programs. It is also a criminal spread of copyright materials.

Imputus for DMCA is that computer piracy quickly reduced profits for those who disseminated information on the Internet or sell software programs. Creating pirate copies of materials, such as a word processing program, or duplicates of music, have become a growing headache for companies that use the Internet or make profits from it. In some cases, violations would include plagiarism that would not be reasonably cited by specific sources or deliberate theft. It also includes CODE programming that can provide access to the material that is coded.

For example, programs as Napster are direct violationsM DMCA, because they allowed people to download music ensembles without paying musicians and recording companies. This program was able to circumvent coding data so people can illegally download material as defined by DMCA.

Opponents to shutdown Napster claimed that DMCA has crossed because people shared submissions, and not only looking for a profit for their use. However, even this sharing was theoretically violated by DMCA, and therefore the Napster was ordered to turn off.

In 2006, supported by the recording and film industry, the proposed overwork of the DMCA would further tighten the limitation of items such as file sharing. Not everyone supports this revision of the original DMCA. For example, one of the proposed DMCA goals is YouTube, where people often share the copyright material.

evokes some controversy, one main recording label, Warner, gives everyone the right to use their recordings to shoot shorth movies or videos. Other acts of other recording companies could help end the impending discussion of violating copyright on YouTube and make it easier to share and experiment with film and music ensembles.

There are many organizations that are now against further tightening DMCA, but their opposition can mean little, because these organizations lack the lobbying power of some software, recording and film industrial giants.
