What is the airport conveyor?

There are two main types of transport systems at airports, one of which is used to move people and the other to transport luggage. The airport conveyor that is used to move people is similar to the horizontal escalator, even if they can function on moderate slopes. These conveyors are usually installed on large airports to make it easier for people to move between connecting flights or to AZ terminals. Most airports also use extensive transport systems to transport luggage and, in some cases, have a small or no human contact after being checked by the gateway agent or removed from the aircraft by a ground crew. This type of airport conveyor can use belt systems, interlaced metal boards and even free wheels to transport luggage and cargo. These conveyors were referred to as horizontal escalators, moving sidewalks and other similar names. Are usually used on medium to long distances, move in a straight line and sometimes have breaks where it is possiblenot to turn on or off. Between these breaks, moving sidewalks usually have a railing as a safety measure.

Airport transport systems designed for human use are usually designed to move only in one direction, so they are often paired. In other cases, there is one conveyor and a third in each direction, which is able to turn the direction to match excess pedestrian operation. Sometimes it is also possible to intentionally stop a moving sidewalk, at this point it simply provides people with additional space to go normally in one or the other.

Another main type of airport conveyor system is used to transport luggage and cargo around the airport. These conveyors are almost always found in the check -in and luggage, although each airport uses its own configuration. In some cases, the mechanical transport system simply supplies luggage and tappedAdvance vehicles that are then used to move items around the airport. Other airports have significantly more complex transport systems and in some cases the luggage will travel throughout the facility without any human intervention.

Luggage traffic systems can use a number of different types of belts, including rubber leaves and metal plates. These conveyors usually have a horizontal orientation, although it is also possible to take into account changes in altitude. Luggage conveyors can also use a number of different methods to connect one way to another, including 90 ° and 45 ° intersections. Another way to connect two airport conveyors together is the power curve, a type of curved belt system that can accommodate 15 ° to 20 ° changes in orientation.
