What is baked ziti?

Baked ziti is a simple meal that is created using penne pasta and some type of sauce. The considered Italian-American hybrid is cooked and then combined with sauce in a saucepan. Ziti is then placed in the oven and is left to bake for a certain period of time. There are many different baked ziti recipes that include a wide range of other ingredients.

It is not uncommon for a baked Ziti recipe to include different types of meat and vegetables. Ground beef, sirloin and sausage tips can be used individually or in combination in the recipe. Vegetables such as mushrooms, onions and various types of peppers are also popular ingredients with many Ziti lovers. As with many recipes for saucepan, almost any type of meat or vegetables can be included in the bowl. This can be particularly important for cooking for a large group with a very small time. Ziti also tends to maintain very well, allowing you to prepare food the day before, store in the refrigerator and in case of needwould warm up the next day.

Almost every baked ziti recipe requires cooking pasta before connecting to other ingredients. However, because it is placed in the oven to take care of, it is normally recommended that the pasta is cooked only in softening and certainly not more than Al dente. This helps to ensure that baked pasta keeps a certain texture when the recipe is fully prepared.

A simple and fast baked ziti recipe does not require more than a few ingredients. Dry penne pasta, onions, minced beef, sour cream and canned spaghetti sauce can be combined to create a tasty ziti bowl in more than forty -five minutes.

Baked Ziti makes an ideal occasional entrée that can be easily paired with a handball green salad to create a fun food. Relatively cheap, tasty and easy to prepare, this Americanized version of Italian food will certainly please almost all.
