What is Menadiane?

Menadiane is a synthetic version of vitamin K and is also known as vitamin K3. This does not naturally occur and is not vitamin in itself. Instead, it is a precursor soluble into fat, which is converted into vitamin K in the liver. Menadiane is also known as provitamin.

Vitamin K is essential for normal body function and its main purpose is to regulate blood clotting. Specifically, vitamin is responsible for the production of the reagent for blood clotting Protrombin , in addition to four other colored substances. This vitamin is also essential in regulating bone calcification. When chlorophyll is in an excited state, vitamin K accepts electrons. This allows chlorophyll to release non -nepotochemic energy when returning to a low -energy state. Breathing plants depends on sufficient supply of vitamin K.

There are two types of Natural vitamin K and three artificial versions. K1 can be found in plants such as broccoli, spinach and salad, while K2 is produced by bacteria that live in the intestines. Provitamin K3 is inventKa considered a nutritional supplement, because in large doses it is known to cause , which is abnormal death of red blood cells. The use of Menadiane was also associated with damage to the newborn of the liver and brain and in some cases death. Menadiane supplements are prohibited by Units States States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

K3 is most often used in the food industry as an additive to dog feed. This has brought controversy, because some owners of pets and animal health experts say that the amount of vitamin K of the required dogs is relatively small and that Menadiane found in pet feed is not necessary. Many petal labels state that products are a source of vitamin K Activity, which often means that they contain menadiane.

At the end of World War II, experiments with Menadian were made to determine its utilizationMingment as cancer treatment. These have determined that they are at least partially effective. Chemotherapy was also developed using K2 and these replaced the earlier version of Menadiane. Recent studies have shown possible treatment of cancer using a combination of K3 and vitamin C, but these are again replaced by work with a naturally occurring K2.
