What is nodpicking?
The growing popularity of political blogs and online political discussion forums has led to a particularly disgusting rhetorical tactics called nutpicking . Nutpicking often involves exhaustive exploration of individual functions in order to find outrage or provocative statements, especially from politically liberal contributors. The spent quotations, often presented from context, aim to prove that all liberals are irrational "nuts". The original material from which citation are of nastpicked can be perfectly acceptable by view as a whole. Nutpicker strategically removes the most loyal or most pleasant words from this post to propose the original poster is irrational, dangerous or member of Madenfringe.
An example of nuts may include a liberal candidate who publishes his or thoughts of an economy in public political discussion. He could say: “I'm not a communist, I'm not a Marxist, but I understand how some of these ideas could reach out to average workVníky who seems to get into a break under the current administration. ” The advocate of the conservative opponent of this candidate could sneak and publish only a small part of the original post: "I understand how some of these ideas (communism and Marxism) could reach average workers."
This selected quote that was completely taken from context could cause the liberal candidate to appear as a communist sympathizer, although the original quote does not provide such a claim. Nutpicking can be particularly effective when the candidate's own words are presented outside the context, but can also be effective in citacinejejextual views represented by the same extreme members of the political forum. Although these views clearly do not reflect the views expressed by most participants, these carefully walled quotations can weaken the credibility of all members of a particular political bent, liberal or conservativeof it.
