What is the assumption of Mary?

The assumption of the Virgin Mary or the Dormition of theotocos is an important holiday and teaching in the Roman Catholic and many eastern Catholic or Orthodox churches. It can also be celebrated to some extent with certain differences in the Anglican and some other Protestant churches. It recalls the concept that Mary's mother of Jesus Christ has been physically assumed/taken into heaven without undergoing corruption of the body that follows death and is part of the punishment for the original sin. There are arguments between the names about whether this assumption has occurred before or after Mary

There are not so many written references to death or the assumption of the Virgin Mary, although the idea has been discussed for centuries. It was also the basic teachings of many denominations that this time celebrate, and a matter of interest of theologians who date back to 400s. Much of the argument about this was the real learning focused on whether Mary died before taking over, but about 7th century was a celebration of the assumption of the Virgin Mary ordinary in a number of Churchknows.

Although this celebration has become adopted for many years, in Roman Catholicism there was an interesting twist in the mid -20th century. Pope Pius XII said that learning was absolutely right and infallible. This meant that at least in the Roman Catholic faith, Mary is not only a teaching but part of the spiritual faith. To some extent, Mary believes that Mary has been supposed to heaven as important as the belief in the resurrection of Christ. Pius XII did not answer the question of whether Mary died first, and that is still open to the debate.

The Pope's statement has made the assumption of the Virgin Mary one of the most important days of the Catholic calendar and is marked as a holy day of duty, which means that people have to visit the church under most circumstances. The celebration of the event in the eastern Orthodox churches, when observed, can be even more involved. Dormition (death or falling asleep) Theotocos (Mother of God)They can prevent two weeks of fasting or delayed most meat and dairy products. This is followed by the innkeeper Day 15. August and, as in Roman Catholicism, Mary's assumption is welcomed to heaven with enthusiasm instead of grief, because she and her son, are promising for all people that life does not end with death. One important difference, however, is that Orthodox churches tend to believe that Mary died, and the third day she rose into heaven.

The tradition of celebrations of 15th August in most Europe is preceded by Christianity. This date was the Harvest festival, which appreciated the Roman gods, especially Diana, who followed the harvest in some interpretations. Replacing An Old Holiday with a new one, which has a slight relationship to it, is definitely not a new convention. Pagan predecessors also have other holidays, such as Easter and Christmas.

Many countries produce more days than it simply calls it a holy day. This can still be called the holidays of the heads of the state and this tradition can be found in several European countries, in SouthaMeric countries and in several African countries. Some countries or cities organize sophisticated festivals.

Many people who are not Christian are wondering why this particular learning is so important in all its incarnations. As already mentioned, it is the promise of Jesus' teachings fulfilled. The belief in the assumption of the Virgin Mary is associated with the belief in the afterlife that Jesus really "went and prepared a place for you" (John 14: 3). Moreover, many feel emotionally associated with this to this day because it represents a meeting between Christ and his mother.
