What is the doctriculus?

Proventriculus is one of the two parts of the bird's stomach. This organ has a very acidic pH and is used to soften food so that it is easier for the bird to spend it easier. Food that cannot be spent in ProvenTriculus is moved to Gizzard, where gravel and debris work to break food.

There are a number of differences between how the bird eats and how mammals often eat. Because birds have beaks rather than teeth, they cannot chew food, but swallow them into pieces of bite size. Birds also eat very quickly and consume food faster than their stomachs can handle. The bird's digestive system is equipped to suit these eating habits, while Proventriculus is only one of the organs in this process.

In many birds, the first organ in their grass system is called a crop. Many but not all, birds have this organ, which is found in the esophagus. The crop acts as a type of space for food storage. When the bird consumes more food than the stomach can at the same time, part of this meal sits incrop. Some food moves from the crop to the stomach when the stomach is ready to spend more food. When the food leaves the crop, it enters Proventriculus.

The stomach consists of two parts, Proventriculus and Gizzard. Gastric acid acid in ProvenTriculus, especially hydrochloric acid, along with mucus and ppsin enzyme, are used to decay and soften the whole pieces of food. This part of the stomach can be extremely acidic and sometimes reaches 0.2 on the ph scale. The high level of acidity helps to spend the food very quickly.

After softening the meal, it moves to the second part of the stomach called Gizzard. Gizzard is working to spend any particularly hard food that Proventriculus failed to soften enough. This may include seeds or carnivorous birds, bones. Gizzard contains the sand and the small lines that the bird has consumed, and these particles help further divide these undigested čParty of food.

While all birds are, like Proventriculus and the stomach, these organs can vary much between species. If the bird's diet consists mainly of fruit or soft meat, the work of provenriculum can be sufficient to break food and the stomach can be very small. However, birds who eat a lot of seeds or bony animals can have a particularly large and strong stomach.
