What is a heart plexus?

The cluster of the nerves that surround and connect to the heart is usually placed on the base of the organ. Normally it consists of a superficial section, which is under the case where the main artery or aorta, arches above the heart. The heart is divided into the right and left halves. The main structures called vagus nerves and sympathetic trunks have fibers called cervical and thoracic heart nerves that feed on the plexus. Several nerve branches are joined in the structure; These sometimes form the heart ganglion of Wrisberg under the aorta.

The heart plexus provides a connection with the central nervous system as part of the heart conductive system. The branches end near the sinoatrial node, which provides electrical impulses to control the heart rhythm, and the atrioventricular node, which serves as an electrical link between the heart and the chamber net. The superficial part of the heart plexus is usually located near the aorta, while the right pulmonary artery is usually behind it. The nerve branches travel from here to deeper areas of the structure and to a part of the pulmonary plexusKtura, which is part of the nerve system of the lungs.

is generally located in front of the place where the trachea is divided before the lungs, the deep part of the heart plexus consists of various nerve branches, including branches of the larynx. The right half often has fibers that go before and behind the right pulmonary artery. The left half of the nerve plexus usually associated with the superficial section usually has fibers that go to the left atrium of the heart.

Sympathetic heart plexus fibers can increase heart rate, control the strength generated by heartbeat and also signal coronary arteries to expand. Also part of the involuntary or autonomous nervous system parasympathetic nerve fibers from cardiac plexus often transmits signals to reduce heart rate. They can also control the narrowing of coronary arteries.

While different parts of the heart plexus are often defined separately, it is generally only one interconnected structura. Its parts are usually associated with spinal cords that transmit pain. Scientists believe that these connections between the plexus and the nerves of the chest, arms and neck may be the reason why heart problems can cause pain in these areas.
