How does infrared heat work?
Infrared refers to the wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum, which lies between the visible light and the microwave. Infrared radiation perceives us as warm, even if we do not see it. The origin of the infrared heat is at the atomic level, where the heat generated by the movement of subatomical particles turns into electromagnetic radiation in the infrared range. Infrared heat should be distinguished from thermal convection and thermal line as it can pass a vacuum.
