What are the futuristic weapons?
Many futuristic weapons that have been discussed and invested for at least several decades have finally debut in the last few years. These include a microwave beam, aka "Ray of Pain", in the form of an active sosting system, which was deployed in Iraq, electromagnetic railroads that have been tested extensively and will soon be equipped on American destroyers, acoustic weapons that have seen limited use in acoustic equipment (LRAD). There was also some discussion on the equipment of the F-22 Raptor with a firm state, but this idea was discarded.
Over the next decade, it is possible to imagine that weapons that we now consider "futuristic" - rail, lasers, various beam weapons - could see extensive use. For one, most of these weapons require no or negligible ammunition, which makes them radically cheaper compared to missiles and bombs. Second, many travel at speed, which is much faster. AnyEs of these futuristic myapons can even reach the horizon.
Some futuristic weapons have a bad reputation. Star Wars defense program initiated by Ronald Regan is an archetypal example "Futuristic Weapons Research", but this project has spent tens of billions in two decades, with several results until recently. However, the latest tests with missile defense systems were effective, although they do not use any separately futuristic method - only fast and small interceptors. Already proposals for the placement of missile defense systems in Poland have triggered the anger of Russia.
It is difficult to create lasers or microwave rays sufficiently powerful to be used as weapons that individual soldiers can transmit, so such weapons for the use of infantry can be several decades. However, some of these systems can be equipped with airplanes or even humvees. Research FlelechettE weapons, fast moving small spine, came up with anything practical.
Solar satellites have been made - satellites on geosynchronous orbit, which collect solar energy and send it to the receiver on the ground in the form of a diffusion microwave. If one of them was launched, there would be at least essentially converted into a futuristic weapon system, which could certainly cause political problems.
