What are the Different Types of Chemical Plant Equipment?

Chemical equipment (English name Chemical Equipment) is a part of chemical machinery (chemicanl machinery), chemical machinery includes two parts, one is chemical machinery, mainly refers to such as fluid conveying fan, compressor, various pumps and other equipment. Components are moving machines and are commonly referred to as chemical machines. The second is that chemical equipment mainly refers to machinery with stationary parts, such as separation equipment such as towers, containers, reactor equipment, etc., sometimes also called non-standard equipment. The division between chemical machinery and other machinery is not very strict. For example, some pumps used in chemical processes are also common equipment used in other industrial sectors. There is also no strict distinction between chemical machinery and chemical equipment in the chemical process. For example, some reactors are often equipped with moving machines. [1-2]

The role of chemical equipment in chemical production

All chemical machinery, including chemical equipment, are the tools used in chemical plants to achieve chemical production. The normal operation of the production process of chemical products, the control and guarantee of product quality and output cannot be achieved without the adaptation and normal operation of various chemical equipment. The selection of chemical equipment must be based on careful calculation, design, processing, manufacturing, and selection of the entire chemical production process, and it must meet the needs of chemical production.

Characteristics of chemical equipment

The entire set of chemical production equipment is composed of chemical equipment, chemical machinery and other such as chemical instruments, chemical pipelines and valves. In order to ensure the safe, stable and reliable production of the entire set of equipment, chemical equipment is required to have the following properties:
(1) It must be compatible with the performance, quantity, process characteristics, production scale, etc. of the raw materials, products, intermediate products and other materials processed in the production equipment;
(2) A set of production equipment, whether continuous or intermittent production, is composed of a variety of multiple equipment, so chemical equipment is required to be with each other and with other equipment, equipment and pipelines, valves, instruments, meters, electrical circuits, etc. There must be reliable synergy and adaptability between them;
(3) The chemical equipment is required to have sufficient sealing performance and mechanical strength in normal operating conditions such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, and material corrosion performance. Sufficient ability to withstand and prevent, respond to, and deal with possible abnormal or even extreme conditions;
(4) Whether it is a continuous or intermittent chemical production plant, it needs to be operated for a long time. Therefore, factors such as abrasion and corrosion of chemical equipment must be considered, and a sufficient normal service life must be ensured;
(5) While satisfying the above conditions, it is necessary to optimize the material, selection, manufacturing cost, efficiency and energy consumption of chemical equipment to minimize it;
(6) Most chemical equipment with various structures and properties are also suitable for use in industrial sectors such as oil refining, light industry, and food, so they are versatile.

Classification of chemical equipment

There are many types of chemical equipment, and the classification method has various methods. For example, according to the structure material, it can be divided into carbon steel equipment, stainless steel equipment, and non-metal equipment- According to the pressure, it can be divided into high pressure equipment, medium pressure equipment and vacuum equipment, atmospheric pressure equipment and so on. According to the use function is roughly divided as follows (see Figure-5):
(1) Chemical containers: tanks, tanks, kettles, etc .;
(2) Separation towers: packed towers, float valve towers, bubble towers, turntable towers, etc.
(3) Reactor: tube reactor, fluidized reactor, stirred tank reactor, etc.
(4) Heat exchangers: tube-type, plate-type heat exchangers, coiled-tube heat exchangers, etc.
(5) Heating furnace: electric heating furnace, tube cracking furnace, waste heat boiler, etc .;
(6) Crystallization equipment: solution crystallizer, melt crystallizer, etc.
(7) Various other special chemical equipment.

Chemical equipment The production of chemical equipment must meet the following requirements

(1) Strict calculation and design together with process design;
(2) Must be manufactured by a manufacturer with capital system;
(3) There must be normal operation, use, maintenance, and maintenance specifications;
(4) There must be normal acceptance, inspection, inspection, maintenance, repair, and maintenance measures in accordance with specifications.
