What is the solar energy?
The solar power plant uses the strength of the Sun to produce electricity. The sun is emitting sunlight and some devices such as solar panels are designed to respond to this radiation and convert it into electricity. Most solar energy plants use the thermal force of the Sun to heat the liquid tanks and power turbines. Parabolic troughs, solar dishes and solar towers are the three most common types of solar thermal energy systems used to produce electricity in solar plants. In the turbine it is kinetic - or movable - the energy of steam is converted into mechanical energy, causing the turbine to rotate and produce electricity. The energy produced by a rotating turbine can be used and stored in a generator. While the combustion of fossil fuels also creates steam necessary to rotate turbines, the use of solar radiation is much cleaner and more energy efficient to access electricity.
The extensive parabolic solar power plant was opened in the Mojave desert in 1980. This device produces a considerable amount of energy and derives it from renewable sources. Parabolic trough systems have reflectors that focus on the rays from the sun to the receiver pipes. The fluid is heated when the receivers flow and create a steam that is supplied to the turbine and generator system. Some parabolic riverbed systems, such as the Mojave desert system, are associated with fossil fuel combustion systems designed to compensate for cloudy days and other low sun periods.
Solar bowl systems use solar collectors that are designed to follow the sun, and at any given moment they move to absorb the largest amount of solar energy. These systems concentrate solar energy at the focal point of the component of the bowl, heating fluid.
