Will radio and TV be digital at the same time?
There are a number of convincing arguments for both radio and television stations that have digital, including a reduction in the overall bandwidth, improved sound and visual clarity, and the ability to broadcast more programming in the assigned channel. Many television stations have already installed digital broadcasting devices, years before the desired FCC switching in 2009. For radio stations, the transition from analog to digital will be slightly more complicated and the FCC decision does not actually apply to radio broadcasts. Signals for years. Changes will be most influenced by consumers who receive their television signals exclusively through "rabbit ears" antennas. The current analog TV signals lit up through the air as radio signals Anní to the same as OS and 1s broadcast in digital systems. Only a special converter will be able to translate digital binary code signals into a visible image on older analog TV files.
However, the same does not have to apply to radio broadcasting. Currently, many radio stations have already transmit a digital signal that can be received by normal radio. The main reason why the radio station will be digital is not due to the federal edict, but to compete with alternative satellite radio services such as Dogstar and Sirius. When the radio station decides to go digital, the station owner must agree to invest in an expensive digital broadcast system. Since the FCC digital switching decision applies only to television broadcasting, many radio stations are reluctant to invest until more financially.
So far, FCC will ensure that television stations will be digital by 2009, the same cannot be said for radio stations. The decision to go to the all-digital system is still on individual owners of the station and many of them are waiting for how much of their market share was lostCeno satellite radio services before committing to such a significant investment in equipment and promotion.
