What does Coppersmith do?
Coppersmith craft and repair of copper and similar metal items. Originally it is an extremely practical trade, coppersmithing is more of an art occupation in the modern world, because most household goods are made of materials other than copper and many copper objects are produced by industrial processes. However, the specialized copper goods market remains, and Coppersmiths still produce a small number of highly technical devices and several pieces of top copper works of art. This is useful in creating decorative objects as well as certain practical objects such as pots or grids. Coppersmith in the ancient world can also combine copper with tin or, rarely, arsenic to form a bronze, a much harder metal. Bronze was useful for both decorative objects and for durable tools and weapons. He divided one from another, a division that to some extent persisted on a modern day. In this era, a copper would usually be a member of the guild and refer to as a redsmith, a reference to the color of the metal, with whom they worked with. Similarly, blacksmiths worked with Iron and Whitesmiths with metals such as tin.
When working with copper, modern Coppersmith will generally work with cold metal, using hammers and presses to shape the metal into the desired shape. Copper is sometimes heated and then cooled, but this process, known as annealing, is used to ensure that the metal retains its flexibility and workability as a cold metal rather than part of the work process itself. Copper is occasionally processed, while hot or occupied, but unlike iron, it can normally be easily chilled.
Modern copper trade tends to focus more on artistic products than practical. Upscale kitchens or fireplace accessories are often created specifically for the rooms in which they will be used. Similarly, there is a large market for elegant and decorative copper pots and kettle, albeit rarely afterThey use modern cooking. The copying shop also intertwines a purely artistic work of sculpture. Copper is a preferred metal for small statues, although bronze is usually used in larger parts because of its greater strength and better durability.
