What Is a Theological Seminary?
Established in 1434, as King Alfonso Aragon, who ruled Spain and Sicily, moved his court from Palermo to Catania, followed by a large number of scholars and clergy, archbishops who supported him Engelius IV approved the plan to set up a university. At the beginning of the university's establishment in 1444, it was a seminary with four diploma-granting courses: church and social code, medicine, philosophy, and literature. After the sixteenth century, the university established academic links with other colleges in Sicily, but it still follows traditional disciplines. [1]
