What is Gre® cat?

2 This version of Gre® uses an adaptive range of questions to assess the student's knowledge in the categories of verbal and quantitative thinking, providing students with students' scores between 200 and 800 in each of these categories. This test is carried out on a computer and the software adapts to the difficulty of questions to an individual test that has shown a degree of professional competence. In 2009, ETS announced plans for this test in 2011. The paper and pencil tests must include questions that question students at all levels of skills to achieve accurate results for students at different levels. This means that students answer people with questions that are not at their level of abilities are either too difficult or trivially simple. The Gre® cat dealt with this problem adjusting the level of difficulty of asked questions based on the accuracy of the student's answers to previous questions. Students who correctly answer the initial questions soon face more demanding questions while students who don't getGradually simpler questions until they reach their level of expertise.

Gre® scoring is determined by the difficulty of the response to the correctly. The exam is taking when the student answers questions, and at the end of the exam, the software will have time to accurately determine the level of the student's expertise. The test can correct a certain amount of errors in the early questions, allowing students to recover from one or two early incorrect answers, although timely responses to factor more than later in the overall determination of the score.
