What are the different types of intestinal parasites?

There are two main groups of intestinal parasites: Helmints and Protozoa. Together, these organisms cause millions of infections around the world every year, in regions that differ from urban United States to distant Africa areas. Untreated parasites in the intestine may cause long -term health problems or even death in the patient, and the patient may also act as a carrier that spreads parasites to other community members. Infections may also occur when parasites colonize water or soil or in the case of zoonotic parasites that infect animals consumed by humans. In all cases, parasites are struggling with the body at the expense of the patient, interfere with the absorption of nutrients and cause different symptoms. When symptoms, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and convulsions appear very common. The presence of intestinal parasites can be diagnosed using a faecal sample that is examined on traces of organisms that could cause infection. Patients should be aware of that sometimesthat a sample to bring false negative or inconclusive results, which requires another sample.

Helmints or worms are multined organisms that usually occur in insufficiently cooked food, although it is also possible to infect with contaminated water or soil. Tasemnice, round Rohorka and Pinworms are among the most famous and widespread. One of the classic symptoms of worm infection is the presence of worms or stool segments.

Protozoa, such as amoeba, giardia and crryptosporidium, are one of the cellular organisms that can multiply freely in the intestinal tract. It can sometimes be difficult to identify protozoa because they are so small and difficult to identify in the stool. People who have recently traveled should draw attention to this fact by demanding medical care of symptoms that indicate infection by intestinal parasites because travel is the main risk factor forinfection.

Several medicines can be used to remove intestinal parasites from the body. These drugs are generally available on prescription only to stimulate patients to diagnose the doctor to select the right drugs to eliminate a particular type of infection. Some patients also have a success with herbal and other alternative therapies.
