What is urethrotomy?

In men, part of the urinary tract called urethra, it can sometimes narrow, known as a stricten. This can be caused by things such as scarring or injury and can make it difficult for urine flow or even painful. One method to deal with this is the urethrotomy or surgical method to alleviate the limitation of the urethra.

Urethrotomy is a closed surgery instead of open and is one of several available options to treat restrictions. It may not be appropriate if the narrowing or scar is extreme, and when the restriction is less demanding, surgeons could try other methods instead of urethrotomy, including inflation of the urethra to expand or place the stent that maintains it open.

However,

urethrotomy is the best choice for some patients. Doctors usually explain in detail surgery to patients, but can be easily described. The input point for toping is a penisand the surgeon inserts an inflexible device that is usually connected to the camera or range, into the penis. This is known as urethrotoma and usually has a small cutting device connected to it. When the narrowing area is achieved, the slices are made so that the urethra is larger. During this operation, urine catheterization is usually required and men are likely to wake up. Kata is usually removed within half a day for the whole day after the operation and in many cases men can go home on the day of operation.

urethrotomy is not a lengthy surgery, but may be painful and anesthesia is required. The most common operation is performed under general anesthesia. Occasionally, surgeons may decide to provide a nerve block such as an epidural or other backbone block to anest the feeling. This can make this operation the possibility for people who would not tolerate general anesthesia because of other health conditions.

After undergoing this operation, it may be unpleasant to urinate for several days and the urination maycause a burning feeling. This tends to improve relatively quickly and many men notice that urine flow has improved, especially after initial recovery. There are some complications of urethrotomy that could include creating restrictions elsewhere in the penis, causing the bladder to form holes, or generally too much postoperative bleeding or infection. Sometimes urethrotomy is not enough to remedy the restriction, and in this case, surgeons may opt for an open surgery to remedy a problem called urethroplasty.
