What is paraphimosis?

paraphimosis is a condition where the foreskin of the penis cannot be returned to its original position. In such cases, the foreskin usually gets stuck behind the head of the penis. This state can only occur in men who are not orbited. In newborn men, physiological paraphimosis may occur naturally, but eventually solves how the boy ages. When this happens after retracting the foreskin or after puberty, paraphimosis then becomes an emergency health. Inserting a catheter and a thorough medical examination of the penis can also lead to paraphimosis if the foreskin is not returned to its normal position after the test. In rare cases, the piercings of the rings in the penis head can also lead to the state. When the foreskin is captured by the penis head, it forms a restrictive ring. This can cause swelling or accumulation of fluid in the penile head. The penis head area can then look very red and swollen, except that it is soft and painful.

As edema is constantly getting worse, blood flow affects the area, which can lead to severe pain and sometimes lead to gangrene if it is not repaired. Gangrena is the death of cells caused by the loss of blood supply to the area, in this case the head of the penis, which seems to seem to be black or blue and stronger when affected. This process is irreversible and can lead to amputation of the affected part. Once paraphimosis is suspected, men should strive for immediate medical treatment to prevent it.

treatment of paraphimosis often depends on severity. Manual reduction is usually performed by doctors, with a local anesthetic used to reduce pain from the procedure and then the foreskin is inserted by manual handling. Surgery can also be performed before manual reduction to reduce the swelling of the penile head. However, circumcision is the only treatment that can ensure that paraphimosis does not happen again.
