What Is Pituitary Cancer?

Pituitary adenocarcinoma is rare, and it is generally difficult to distinguish adenoma from adenocarcinoma based on tumor cell morphology alone. Pituitary adenocarcinoma may or may not be able to secrete hormones. Some pituitary adenocarcinomas may be transformed from invasive adenomas.
