What is the relationship between Alzheimer and Amyloid?

More studies have identified two states - amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles - as definitive evidence of Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer and amyloid plaques are therefore directly connected. Amyloids consist of protein fragments normally produced in the body. Health individuals eliminate these fragments. In patients with Alzheimer and amyloid plaques associated with this disease, amyloid fragments accumulate around neurons in the brain and eventually hardens and create insoluble plaques.

The accumulation of a particular protein fragment, beta amyloid, occurs in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease. Another type, Tau protein, exists in a tangle that is formed in the cellular structure of cerebral neurons in Alzheimer's disease. Scientists believe that the formation of these two elements causes neurons degradation in the brain, which in turn leads to symptoms related to Alzheimer and amyloid plaques. As the process continues, cholinergineneurons in the brain that controls the transmission of nerve pulses, including memory, withlaying down. Some research suggests a connection with abnormal lipid metabolism and related damage to cellular oxidation.

Apolipoprotein E (Apoe), a specialized type of lipoprotein, has a major role in the brain. It increases the transport and elimination of lipids and beta amyloid. Some studies indicate that the presence of Apoe4 sub-type in the brain leads to less protection against changes in functions that could occur with aging. Some of these studies suggest that damage to this process can be reduced by changes in diet and risk adjustment. One of the most important factors is the control of cardiovascular risk factors, including hyperlipedemia-too high overall cholesterol-A lipoprotein with low density.

There is convincing evidence of Alzheimer's relationship between all accounts. The importance of early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease has led to research on how to identify these plaques as soon as possible.
