What Is Polycystic Liver Disease?
Hereditary polycystic liver disease, also known as adult polycystic liver disease, refers to multiple cystic liver diseases caused by genetic factors. Hepatic cysts vary in size, and may be single cysts in the early stage, and most of them are multiple cysts, which can be limited to hepatic or bilateral diffuse distribution. Most of the signs of this disease appear between the ages of 25 and 50 years, and nearly a third of the patients are found during physical examination of the palate and upper abdominal mass. Polycystic kidney disease is often associated with women.
