What is an air ladder?

Air ladder is a type of ladder designed to extend without support to achieve high places. This type of ladder is most often installed on fire trucks for fire and rescue. Air ladders were first invented at the end of the 19th century in response to the need for longer ladders to help firefighters reach the upper stories of more and more high buildings. The first aviation ladders were made of wood and brought up with a system of hand crank clicks. Modern air ladders are made of strong, lightweight materials such as an aircraft aluminum, and can be quickly increased by hydraulics or electric motors. Most ladders of this type are constructed by a combination of two or more parts of the reinforced ladder so that they nest into each other. They are much more strongly designed than a standard ladder, and sections will often have a box similar to a box with a diagonal stress that can resemble a bridge or roof to resemble a bridge or roof. The air ladder isDesigned so that it is self -supported until it reaches its goal, and some are able to remain freely in space with another weight of one or more firefighters.

Modern firefighting vehicles and vehicles are by far the most common bearers of air ladders. These devices are important aids to combat fires and rescue people imprisoned fires and other rescue operations involving buildings that are more than one or two stories over Earth level. Ladder cars have evolved specifically for the use of this invaluable tool for fire and rescue.

The main use of the air ladder is to allow firefighters and other rescue staff access to high places. Many improvements to the basic idea have expanded its usefulness and efficiency. Air ladder can be equipped with a platform or bucket at the end to make firefighters OR rescuer staff stableosti while it is high in the air.

Some air ladders are equipped with automated water supply systems so that firefighters do not have to carry the hoses to the top of the ladder. Some may have a fire hose mounted on the rotating tower, which allows the firefighters to quickly and efficiently head for the current where it will be the most good. Some air ladders may include a small integral water tank that provides water supply when another source such as fire hydrant is not available.
