What is an extrusion coating?

The extrusion coating is a process used to paint materials with a thin plastic layer by means of heat and pressure. This process is used to improve the durability and quality of the surface of paper, fabrics, aluminum foils and other plastic products. The coating is applied by pressure by injection molten plastic into the slot, which pushes the thin membrane of the plastic to the moving leaf of the recipient material. The combination is then cooled and compressed to create the end product.
