What are the cannulated screws?
The
canlated screws are used in bone and joint surgery to repair breaks and to ensure artificial implants that can be used to replace a part or whole joint. The cannhed screw is generally made of stainless steel or titanium and samovar, which means that it can reduce its own path through the bones because it is screwed to the site. The central core of the screw is hollow, allowing you to go through the directive. This helps to maneuver the bolt to the position, as it can be advanced along the wire and remove the need for a pre -milled hole. The area of medicine associated with bone and muscle disorders is known as orthopedics. The cannhed screws with threads suitable for porous bones are more common and have a larger diameter, with larger spaces between threads and relatively narrow inner shaft. Because they are designed to repair a mocking bone, their design provides a larger surface area for bones. Since the cannhed screws are about ten times more expensive than non -uncened screws, it is used, if possiblecost.
Thecannulated bolts allow the performance of what is called percutaneous techniques, where surgical procedure occurs rather through the piercing of the holes in the skin rather than to make a large open cut. This type of surgery can be used to treat the fracture of the femoral neck, where the head of the femur in the shape of the ball breaks at a narrow point or neck where it connects to the shaft. Operations can only be used in cases where the broken bone is still in place to ensure that the head of the femur does not have disturbance of blood supply and remains alive after the screws secure it on the spot.
during surgery, images of procedure, similar to X-rays, can be seen on the screen using a device called fluoroscope. This allows the surgeon to properly place the guidelines before inserting the screws. Normally more than three cannulated screws, located in the shape of a reverse triangle, are not required to repair a fracture,But sometimes four can be used.
After surgery, the aim is to get patients as soon as possible, although full mobility is not always restored. While most fractures will recover well, some may sometimes become unstable, which requires further operation. It is assumed that the use of the subsoil along with the cannhed screws helps to improve the outcome.
