What factors affect epinephrine dosing?

The

dose of epinephrine is largely influenced by the condition used for treatment and the age of the patient using the drug. In adults suffering from asthma, the proposed dose is 0.1 to 0.5 milligrams (mg), but for children the dose is lower, falling to 0.05 to 0.1 mg for those aged two and younger. The doses for the allergic reaction are the same as for asthma, but for other conditions such as shock, the dose is different. Adults should have a shock of 2 to 10 micrograms (MCG) per minute and children should be given 0.01 to 0.03 mg per kilogram (kg) weight.
