What is rolfing?

Rolfing is a technique of body education and movement developed by Dr. Ida Rolf (1896-1979). Rolfing also known as structural integration, involves reconciliation of the body to improve posture and balance. After completing the Rolfing 10 series, the client is to experience a more integrated and coordinated body that will lead to a reduction in pain, better posture and greater consciousness. This bodywork technique is practiced worldwide by certified Rolfy, who participates in a two -year program at the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration. This pulls the body out of the settlement, which means it does not work as a coordinated whole to support itself. Rolfing includes a gentle but deep touch, stretches into the body to release the tied muscles and fascias to be able to equalize. Rolfing 10 series is divided into three modules: the first part of the series is called the "Sleeve series" because it focuses on the surface layers of connective tissue and sets the body for the rest of the series. Other sessions focusing on the core of the body work into deeper parts of the body and relax and free muscles. The latest sessions focus on integration and assemble the body back together so that the client feels a change in the way he feels and moves.

Although all Rolfers train at the same institute, everyone develops a unique style.Clients are invited to try several peasants to find a perfect style. In all cases, rolfing should not be painful, although there may be moments of intense physical or emotional release. Pain is not useful for bodywork, so it is very important for the client to communicate with the therapist to make the session comfortable and productive.
