What is breast ironing?
Breast blessing is a practice involving the palpitations of the girl's chest entering puberty with heated objects to prevent or reduce breast development. This practice was most widely observed in the African Cameroon nation, where the 2006 studies indicated that up to one of four women and girls was exposed to breast ironing, usually a mother, even if some girls did it for themselves. People involve this practice in the belief that this will prevent people from viewing young women as sexually available, because breast development is often considered a signal that the girl is ready for sexual activity. These objects are heated and applied to the chest to damage the breast tissue. Breasts can be pounded or massaged to break further breasts. Complications may include permanent tissue damage, abscesses, infections and extreme pain for the patient. Some bears have expressed concern that this practice can also increase the risk of cancer by causing abnormal tissue changes that could eventually become RakovInova.
In Cameroon, as in other nations, the development of the breast is announced as a step into femininity. Girls can be forced to marry as soon as their breasts develop, and if they are not forced to marry, they are often excluded from school and sequested family members that they can bring the family to shame by involving sexual activity. Some mothers and daughters claim that this practice provides girls more opportunities by allowing them to complete school and avoid forced marriage at a young age.
