What is Huchen?

Huchen, also known as the Danube salmon or Hucho Hucho, is a freshwater fish that came from the Danube River in Europe. As fishing has become more popular for this species, it has been distributed to other parts of Europe and can now be found throughout the continent. Huchen is freshwater fish that travel from lakes and slowly moving rivers to pull their territories for most of their lives. In fact, this type of salmon is the largest breed of freshwater salmon in the world and has been used as a source of food in Europe for many years. Huchen is also considered a big sporty fish, simply because of its huge size and volatile temperament - this has contributed to the Huchen population and fish are now considered to be an endangered species.

This fish has a slim body that is almost in the middle. Huchen backs to be reddish -brown with almost gradient effect, with several dark spots that are strangely shaped either like x or crescent. These properties do not consider much northern American variety of salmon. MeNorth fish remain in these waters and feed on other fish eggs, larvae or insects. As the fish grows, it can move to deeper waters and start feeding other fish or even small animals such as mice in the water.

The Huchy species is very territorial and instead of leaving the eggs after mating, the woman will watch the nest. After the incubation period 16 to 24 days, the egg hatches and then the woman can leave her nest. In addition to the mating season, Huchen is not considered social fish.

The effort to conserve nature is underway to keep Huchen in the controlled environment. However, the conditions needed to incubate and hatch eggs have proved to be complicated and are difficult to correct them in a controlled environment. This, along with the inability to keep many huchenes in a limited area for a long time, which makes it very difficult to protect. Restoring the population of this fish is considered to be important for the ecosystem and population of Europe and effortsY to rescue Huchen is most likely not to stop.
